Twenty years ago I designed the Chaplin, and some things are simply too good to stay away forever. This is one of them. Named in the spirit of the great Charlie Chaplin himself — a man who understood that true style lies in the details — the Chaplin belt returns in two quietly exceptional colours, and this rich chocolate suede version is a reminder of everything that made it a favourite in the first place.

The suede itself is beautifully weighted — deep, warm chocolate with the soft, napped finish that only the finest suede can offer. But it is the waxed cord hand stitching running the full length of both edges that sets this belt apart. Each stitch is placed by hand, the waxed thread sitting proud of the suede surface with a tactile, artisanal quality that is immediately apparent to anyone who looks closely — and impossible to replicate by machine. It is the kind of detail that connoisseurs of craft notice and quietly appreciate, a mark of the care and time invested in every single belt.

The antique brass roller buckle is the ideal companion. Its warm, aged tone settles into the chocolate suede with a deeply satisfying tonal harmony, while the diamond-etched roller adds a subtle textural note — a small, considered detail that adds character without ever competing for attention. Understated, authentic, and completely right.

Handcrafted in our Spanish atelier, the Chaplin is back — and it never should have left.

How to wear it: A superb suede belt for the smarter end of casual dressing — wear with chinos, moleskin trousers, or dark denim and a blazer for a look that feels relaxed but thoroughly considered. The chocolate tone works beautifully across the full autumnal palette — tan, olive, camel, and rust all sit naturally alongside it.
